The international recognition of Selena Gomez as an actress and a singer is undisputed. Her Disney series Wizards of Waverly Place is one of her biggest success shows. Her full name is Selena Marie Gomez. She was born on the 22nd of July 1992 in Grand Prairie Texas. Her parents are Amanda Cornett and Ricardo Gomez. Selena was the first child of her mother who was only 16 at the age of Selena. When she was 9 was offered her very first work in the show industry by being offered the part as Gianna as Gianna in Barney and her Friends. As a result, she played with the most humane and reptiles in the form of a purple dinosaur. Selena played a role in many episodes of seasons 7 and 8 from 2001 - 2003. Fun fact: Selena is not the only singer who worked in Barney and the Friends in this time period. Demi Lovato was also a part of the cast of the series. Selena Gomez left the show and was auditioned for a variety of other films and programs, but did not have the most success. In 2003 she was given a minor role in Mini Spies 3: (Spy Kids 3D: Game Over), and she was in Walker Texas Ranger Trial by Fire as Julie. The film also gave her the role as Emily Grace Garcia in the 2007 Brain Zapped program for which she wrote a song.
