Born on the 22nd of July, 1992 in Grand Prairie Texas. Amanda Cornett, and Ricardo Gomez are her parents. The mother of Selena was only 16 when Selena was born. In the year 2009, Selena was cast in her first film in the show industry as Gianna as Barney and her Friends. She was among many children to have played with Barney, the infamous anthropomorphic pink dinosaur. Selena worked on several episodes in seasons 7 and 8 between 2001 and 2003. It's a great fact that Selena isn't the only singer who worked on Barney as well as his Friends at this time; Demi Lovato was also a part of the team that starred in the series. Selena Gomez had a few auditions for various series and films in the years following Barney and His Friends. Her auditions did not go well. The role she was offered was a minor one in the 2003 film Mini Spies 3 (Spy Kids 3-D: Game Over) and a different one as Julie on Walker Texas Ranger: Trial by Fire. She also was given the character of Emily Grace Garcia in the 2006 Brain Zapped program for which she composed a tune.
