Lita Rossana Ford (or Lita Ford, as she's more commonly known as, was an American-born British singer and guitarist who was the leader of the only female hard rock band The Runaways during the late 1970s. The band did not enjoy an enormous following in The United States. However, their popularity grew overseas, particularly in Japan. Ford had a long and prosperous career as a heavy-metal solo musician after the group broke up together in 1979. She took voice lessons and then released her debut solo album , 'Out for Blood' then 'Dancin' on the Edge. Ford went missing from the music scene for some time after both albums failed to become popular. In 1988, Ford returned to the world of music with a smashing album called "Lita. The hit single 'Kiss Me Deadly' as well as the ballad 'Close My Eyes Forever' both became huge hits. However, the popularity of her career wasn't lasting and over the course of several years she disappeared. The resurgence of her career came with albums "Black" which came out in 1995 and "Wicked Wonderland", almost 15 years following. She released her latest album Time Capsule in 2016. Guitar Player Magazine has awarded her The Certified Guitar Legend Award.
